Staff Nurse (BAND 6) - Private Patients Medical Day Unit We are currently looking for enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Band 6 Staff Nurses to join the Private Patient Medical Day Unit (PPMDU) at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea, on a full‑time permanent basis. We are proud of the great care we deliver at the PPMDU and the integrated model of care that exists with our NHS colleagues, which facilitates the innovative research, diagnosis, treatment and care that the Royal Marsden provides to all patients. You will need to be a 1st level registered nurse, with demonstrable previous oncology experience and experience in the administration of IV medications and chemotherapy. Intravenous cannulation and venepuncture are desirable, but full training will be given. In addition you will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, enthusiastic and an effective team member committed to providing the highest level of service for our patients. Responsibilities Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence‑led care to patients. Exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long‑term goals. Participate fully in the day‑to‑day organization and running of clinical trials, including the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a clinical trial and liaising as required with trial sponsors. Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to a patient in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct. Promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff. Participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators. Assist with any local or Trust initiatives to ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of services and safeguarding of high standards of care. Be aware of all hospital policies and procedures and collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure that these are observed.
