The role will be to carry out laboratory support in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) within each department to deliver and continuously improve on safety, cost, quality and service targets. Key Accountabilities & Deliverables Ensure prompt, flexible, customer focused laboratory support whilst maintaining compliance with statutory and regulatory standards. Maintaining a safe, organised and tidy working environment, active 5S contributor and responsible for assigned areas within client facilities. Ensure that all tasks are completed daily/weekly/monthly as per schedule. To follow procedures diligently and work efficiently to adhere to daily schedule. Understand and follow the Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments provided. To create, manage and review supporting documentation. To attend and actively participate in relevant meetings and training courses as required. Working with the Full Spectrum Lab Services Engineering site team to support the hosting of visiting engineers and external contractors/vendors into client’s laboratories. Health, Safety Environmental Arrangements Raise and/or follow task-based Risk Assessments/Method Statements (RAMS), COSHH, Manual Handling and Display Screen Equipment (DSE) ensuring that controls are fully met. Carry out high risk tasks in full compliance with CBRE Procedures, Guidance and Rules, and in accordance with responsibilities/duties specified within CBRE arrangements when appointed as an Authorised/Competent Person. Clean up areas on completion of engineering work and maintain the cleanliness of lab equipment and workshops ensuring that the area is free from engineering debris and waste. Act as a receiving authority under CBRE Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) when trained and authorised to safely carry out the duties and responsibilities of an authorised and/or competent person. To take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who could be affected by their acts or omissions. Ensure that a full and detailed task specific Risk Assessment/Method Statement is completed prior to any work commencing. To report any accidents or near misses that they experience, or witness, to their Line Management. To co-operate and assist in all aspects of health and safety procedures introduced by management for their well‑being. To wear personal equipment when conditions require or when required to do so by the relevant risk assessment, method statement or mandatory signage. To follow safe working procedures when handling, storing, using or transporting any COSHH controlled items. To report any medical problems experienced when undertaking any work functions to management. To maintain a good standard of Laboratory keeping throughout their areas of work. To ensure that work equipment is only used for its intended purpose and that they have been trained to use it. To not interfere with any equipment provided for their safety. cGxP It is the policy of CBRE to provide and document training that ensures all persons that fall within the scope of cGxP Regulated Areas, Laboratory access, cGxP equipment and cGxP plant possess the awareness, knowledge and skills necessary to execute job functions in support of the production of cGxP materials and processes in a proficient, compliant and safe manner. As an on-going process, CBRE will identify the necessary skills training required for colleagues, contractors, etc. to assure the business line complies with cGxP regulations. It is every employee’s duty to uphold and comply with the site cGxP requirements, to report non-conformities within cGxP plant and equipment using the relevant documentation within the CBRE Quality Manual. Personal Experience/Qualifications/Skills PC literate in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc). Ability to in a regulated environment and remain compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. Proven strong organisational and administration skills with strong attention to detail. Very strong analytical skills with proven ability to break down and solve complex problems in a logical and structured approach. Ability to work to own initiative and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good attention to detail and ability to identify innovative approaches to improve efficiency. Ability to build long term relationships, working collaboratively with all colleagues and clients. Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines. Ability to react to situations with a “sense of urgency” and responsibility. Aptitude for technical and practical matters. Desirable An A-level standard in Biology or Chemistry or related subject. Experience with cryogenics and/or compressed gases.
