We are now expanding our team in Spennymoor and have an opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join and lead this growing team. The Transport Manager will undertake depot responsibility for the management of Driver and Vehicle compliance. You will deliver an efficient and effective collection service taking the lead on the integration of new services and customer roll outs, demonstrating commercial awareness and the ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders. Your role will involve: Operational transport compliance Scheduling, analysis and planning and out of hours responses Incident investigation and assist in the disciplinary processes, accident and incident investigations, driver training and auditing Performance management, absence management, KPI setting and 121s and Interviewing Support will be given to the National Transport Manager on vehicle and supplier procurement and supply. Liaison with internal department and external third parties Submit Transport updates and reports to Senior Management Team Transport Employee Recruitment & Development Health and safety Candidate Profile: CPC Qualification/ADR Knowledge Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar transport management role with strong understanding of Transport Compliance Experience of vehicle routing and excellent geographical knowledge for the North East region Experience of building relations and working with drivers on a daily basis Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise People Management, including hiring, performance management, absence management, disciplinary actions Excellent PC skills including Microsoft packages with Intermediate Excel skills Full UK Driving License Working hours Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
