OverviewWe are looking for a self-starter Personal Assistant with a can-do attitude to provide support to an individual with cerebral palsy and other complex health conditions. The ideal candidate should be compassionate, proactive and reliable. They should also possess good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience working with individuals with similar disabilities, which they could have gained through working as a healthcare or classroom assistant in a special needs school.Based in GilestonPurpose of JobThe candidate should be a motivated self-starter who is willing to work waking nights and undertake relevant training to provide the best support possible. They should be able to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends as well.Hours of WorkPlease apply indicating how many hours you are able to work per week.Rates of Paymeets NMW per hour£93.78 per nightTasks InvolvedJob duties include but are not limited to:ReliableAssisting with all aspects of everyday living tasksDriving the individual's vehicle to various appointments, work and social eventsSupporting the individual at home and at workUndertaking occasional travel overnight with the individual for leisure and work purposesAll expenses for travel will be covered by the employerExperience with sepsis managementType of Person RequiredWelsh language skills desirableReliableConsiderate and compassionateGood communicatorProactiveRespect for confidentiality and working in the homeExperience and willingness to undertake trainingWilling to drive owners adapted vehicleClean driving licenseComfortable working around dogsAbout the JobThough a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence.
