OverviewClinical Lead in Stroke Rehabilitation, West of England ISDN. Secondment at NHS England South West region, hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust. This is a 0.5 WTE secondment for an initial 12-month period with the possibility of a further 12-month extension by mutual agreement. The arrangement would be on a sessional basis with the employing organisation or an equivalent arrangement. This is one of two vacancies for the West of England ISDN within the NHS England SW Region.Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with extensive experience in stroke rehabilitation who is passionate about improving stroke patients care, outcomes and experience in the SW region. The successful candidate will work closely with their counterpart at Peninsula ISDN and the clinical network team at NHS England to support service transformation, focusing on community stroke rehabilitation, and provide expert leadership, clinical knowledge and advice to the management team and wider stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesProvide professional clinical leadership to the ISDN and the SW Stroke programme.Bring expert rehabilitation and community experience and knowledge base.Ensure whole pathway improvements and transformation are considered and provide expert input and scrutiny for all rehabilitation areas of the pathway.Provide clinical advice to constituent organisations (commissioners and providers).Communicate the ISDN strategy and objectives to focus on quality and outcomes from national through to local level.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will have an in-depth understanding of the specialist area and will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting the implementation and sustained delivery of the Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) model across the region, with the aim of creating alignment around transformational programmes through engagement with providers, commissioners and patients.Working for our organisationNorth Bristol NHS Trust employs over 12,000 staff providing healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.Person specificationQualificationsEducated to Master level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.Professional registration with nursing or AHP body.Recognised project management qualification is desirable.ExperienceKnowledge of stroke rehabilitation pathways.Previously worked in a senior role within the stroke community in the NHS.Experience of working in a project-focused environment.KnowledgeKnowledge and experience of working in formal clinical networks within the NHS.The ability to build excellent collaborative networks.SkillsExcellent time management skills with the ability to re-prioritise.Ability to communicate complex information effectively, with strong interpersonal and written communication skills.Ability to prepare draft reports, data and letters; negotiating and networking skills are desirable.Ability to work without supervision and manage own and others’ workloads to tight deadlines.Please note that North Bristol NHS Trust does not reimburse travel expenses relating to interview attendance.
