Clinical Lead in Stroke Rehabilitation, West of England ISDN Secondment at NHS England SW region, hosted by North Bristol Trust. Job description This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with extensive experience in stroke rehabilitation who is passionate about improving stroke patients care, outcomes and experience in the SW region. This role is a 0.5 WTE on a secondment basis at NHS England South West region, hosted by North Bristol Trust for an initial 12-month period with the possibility of extension for a further 12 months by mutual agreement. The arrangement would be on a sessional basis with the employing organisation or individual comparable arrangement. This is one of the two vacancies for the West of England ISDN within the NHS England SW Region and the other vacancy for Peninsula ISDN, hosted by University hospital of Plymouth NHS Foundation under similar arrangements. Job summary The successful candidate for the West of England ISDN will work closely with their counterpart at Peninsula ISDN and the clinical network team at NHS England, to support service transformation, focused on community stroke rehabilitation, provide expert leadership, clinical knowledge and advice to the management team and wider stakeholders. The post holder will need an in-depth understanding of the specialist area and will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting the implementation and sustained delivery of the Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) model across the region with the aim to create alignment around programmes of transformational work through engagement with providers, commissioners and patients, that will improve care for stroke patients in West of England. Responsibilities Provide professional clinical leadership to the ISDN and the SW Stroke programme. Bring the expert rehabilitation and community experience and knowledge base. Ensure that whole pathway improvements and transformation are being considered and provide the expert input and scrutiny for all rehabilitation areas of the pathway. Provide clinical advice to constituent organisations (commissioners and providers). Communicate the ISDN strategy and objectives to focus on quality and outcomes from national through to local level. Person Specification An experienced practitioner in Stroke Rehabilitation, you must be able to demonstrate the following: Educated to Master level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience. Professional registration with nursing or AHP body. Recognised project management qualification is desirable. Knowledge of stroke rehabilitation pathways. Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis. Experience of working in a project focused environment. Previously worked in senior role within the stroke community in the NHS. Excellent time management skills with the ability to re‑prioritise. Skills for communication on complex information and administrative matters, requiring developed interpersonal and oral/ written communication skills. Ability to pull together comprehensive draft reports, data and letters. Negotiating, networking and persuasive skills are desirable. Skills for manipulating information. Strong organisational and time management skills and evidence of working in a systematic manner. Advanced keyboard skills, use of a range of software, including Excel, Word and Access. Ability to work without supervision. Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and others’ workloads to changing and often tight deadlines. Commitment to and focused on quality, promotes high standards in all they do. Able to make a connection between their work and the benefit to patients and the public.
