Location Boscombe Down, Amesbury, near Salisbury, United Kingdom Role Type Full-time / Permanent Role Purpose As a member of the Estates Delivery discipline within UK Defence Operations, the Cleaner role will provide support by delivering planned or requested activities to effectively deliver a high quality cleaning service. Key Responsibilities Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the site, delivering the cleaning schedule/specification and responding to specific customer needs as required. Ensure the cleaning of offices, accommodation rooms, conference rooms, laboratories/workshops, kitchens, toilets/showers, and general areas across the site. Ensure appropriate cleaning of signage across the site. Safely use and manage cleaning materials, equipment/tools, substances, and areas; ensure proper storage and signage where necessary. Collect waste items from across the site and dispose of them in the correct receptacles, including kitchen and dry waste recycling bins. Provide rapid and efficient response to customer requests/tasks. Carry out weekly shower checks and record for audit purposes. Identify and report any issues encountered while carrying out cleaning duties. Provide general assistance/support to the Property Operations team as required. Key Accountabilities Support the delivery of high quality Operations under supervision and guidance, working within defined procedures. Support the resolution of standard queries, escalating more complex issues to a senior member of the team. Support the delivery of a high standard of Operations through effective communication, taking accurate messages and passing them on in a timely manner. Support continuous improvement of UKD Operations by assisting other team members and making suggestions for improvement. Support resilience across UKD Operations and learn new skills as identified by the Team Leader. Develop professional/technical competence through structured learning and/or through work assignments. Lead by example, champion best practice and encourage others to demonstrate appropriate leadership behaviours to promote a positive culture in line with business standards and expectations for safety and environment.
