This role will also provide ad hoc administrative support to the Commissioning Team in the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner. Compass House is a hub for victim services in Kent and provides an office base for services that support victims of crime, it also has support rooms for support provision. The Commissioning Team are responsible for Compass House and oversee crucial services aimed at reducing crime, supporting community safety and helping victims and witnesses across the County. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to deliver a first‑class service as a receptionist, in a dynamic environment that helps individuals impacted by crime. This is a 12‑month fixed term contract based at Compass House, Ashford. Part‑time and job‑share options may be considered for the right candidate/s. A customer care focus, with an empathetic approach is essential as you will be the first point of contact for those accessing the centre, which includes victims of crime. You must have experience of managing competing workstreams, be confident in problem solving and be able to prioritise appropriate action. A good standard of education to GCSE A‑C level (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics or experience to this standard are essential. The post holder will ideally have a basic understand of policing and criminal justice system plus the delivery of victim support services. A willingness to learn and an empathetic approach are essential. The post holder must possess good communication and organisational skills and be able to take control of a wide variety of emotive situations and deal with people in a sensitive and discreet manner. The post holder should have good keyboard skills, be familiar with using a computer and experience of using Word, Excel, and E‑Mail.
