Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities Prepare and/or oversee the definition of system requirements, develop specifications and prepare complex, business‑critical engineering designs. Develop, maintain and control the technical interface to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues and to deliver contractual commitments. Ensure that designs consider Design Safety, Design for Manufacture assembly, dis‑assembly and end‑of‑life processing, Design to cost, and Design for reliability and maintainability. Validate any systems/equipment, including generation of test schedules, test and integration plans, and writing/investigation of test problem reports. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to discuss technical issues and resolve problems. Qualifications Degree‑level education in a relevant engineering discipline with a demonstrated background within an engineering environment. Experience with Systems Engineering tools and techniques, including requirements management, product safety and validation and verification techniques. Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and software principles and their interfaces. Good working knowledge of technical office process standards, standard instructions and drawing standards. Knowledge and experience of lifecycle processes and exposure to testing, trials and qualification of designs. Role Overview In this role you will be working within the Engineering Function on the Research & Technology team, playing a key role in designing systems for business‑critical projects, including development of new products using novel technologies.
