About the role of Head of Finance & Business Operations:
My client is part of a highly successful global group, with more than 2,000 employees worldwide, yet the UK team still operates with an agile, collaborative culture. As they continue to scale, they're now seeking a Head of Finance & Business Operations who can lead the Finance function, support commercial decision-making, and drive operational excellence across the business.
This is a hands-on, strategic role where you'll work closely with the Country Manager and the senior leadership team, taking full responsibility for financial planning, reporting, governance, and performance, while also leading continuous improvement across systems, processes, and controls.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance & Business Operations:
Lead and develop the Finance team, while working closely with Sales and Marketing to support commercial goals.
Own all core financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, management reporting, audits, payroll, and statutory compliance.
Provide clear, insightful analysis to support business decision-making and drive performance.
Partner with leadership to shape annual business plans and long-term financial strategy.
Review financial and commercial KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Oversee commercial contracts and ensure financial terms remain aligned to business objectives.
Streamline processes and introduce best practice across finance and operations.
Build strong relationships with auditors, advisors, and financial partners.
What my client is looking for as the Head of Finance & Business Operations:
Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
5+ years' experience in a senior finance leadership position.
Strong ability to analyse, interpret, and present financial and commercial data.
Experience working with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce and Sage Payroll.
Background in technology, software, IT, SaaS or cybersecurity is an advantage.
A commercially minded, detail-focused leader who can influence at board level.
Someone who enjoys both leading strategically and being hands-on in a growing business.
