Job Description Primary objectives for the Food and Beverage Assistant include the following responsibilities: Supervise the day‑to‑day operations of the bar and catering facilities. Ensure the highest possible standards of Health and Safety and customer care. Oversee the bar, restaurant and kitchen of the Centre. Prepare and cook meals and snacks in accordance with the Centre’s requirements. Perform front‑of‑house bar duties as necessary. Ensure that food is covered, stored, labelled and dated to meet food safety regulations. Prevent contamination of food and drink through proper handling, storage, preparation and serving. Control access to the kitchen and bar areas to authorised personnel only. Maintain cleaning duties throughout the shift. Report any injuries involving staff or members of the public to the Centre Manager. Record complaints and pass them to the Centre Manager. Carry out all Health and Safety procedures at all times. Deliver a consistently high level of service to customers. Assist in the management of the Centre’s quality assurance systems and procedures. Perform cleaning duties as required. Support regulatory requirements. Handle cash responsibly and adhere to company financial regulations. Provide a safe and efficient service to the public. Serve as a keyholder if required. Undertake any additional duties as directed by the Centre Manager to achieve business objectives. Qualifications The post holder will preferably hold the following: A recognised qualification in Catering or a related subject. A first‑aid certificate. A Food and Hygiene Certificate. Strong knowledge of the leisure industry or a related sector in a small/medium‑sized enterprise. Personal Characteristics Build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees. Communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation, listening and directing as needed. Work additional hours when required. Maintain good employee relations and deliver quality training. Work from various locations as and when required.
