“Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we can only consider applicants with existing right to work in the UK.” We are seeking a dedicated Tutor/Assessor to guide and manage the learning journey for our Supported Internship programme, enabling interns to reach their potential and progress towards meaningful employment. This role involves designing, planning, and implementing effective learning programmes, utilising innovative and accessible learning approaches. The successful applicant will play a vital role in facilitating learner achievement, building knowledge and skills towards a successful end‑point relevant to local employment opportunities and individual needs. A key focus of this role is the embedding and promoting of key employability, maths and English skills. Applicants must have a sound awareness of Supported Internships and prior experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs and additional learning support. What You Will Do Develop and implement high-quality, accessible, and innovative teaching and learning that provides progression opportunities to further learning or employment. Coach, upskill and empower learners, embedding key employability, English and maths skills. Plan and deliver a programme of study which ensures learners understand their objectives and sequence learning to build on prior knowledge, skills, and behaviours. Use a range of relevant assessment methods effectively to check learners' understanding, inform teaching, and provide feedback to improve outcomes. Plan and manage the learner journey, ensuring seamless curriculum intent, implementation, and impact. Monitor learner targets (e.g. attendance, retention, achievement, and progression) and implement solutions for individual learners. Respond to feedback from partners and stakeholders to continually improve the programme’s ability to meet local skills needs. Ensure the embedding of Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, British values and Prevent throughout the curriculum. Complete administrative tasks, including data collection, audit requirements, and supporting marketing, recruitment, and enrolment activities. What You Need Essential Qualifications/Knowledge 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C / 9-4) or equivalent, including maths and English. Professional teaching (CertEd/PGCE or equivalent) and/or assessor/verifier (CAVA/IQA) qualifications or willingness to work towards. Competent user of Microsoft Office and Google platforms. Knowledge of Supported Internships and their positioning within the wider Supported Employment model. Knowledge of legislation and practice relating to post‑16 and skills education, particularly Safeguarding and Prevent, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety. Essential Experience & Skills Experience of Special Educational Needs and additional learning support (particularly working with young people with SEND). Experience of team working and managing change to meet business needs. Learner‑centred and customer‑focussed approach. High level of interpersonal and communication skills to a range of audiences. Planning and organisational skills with the ability to problem‑solve and manage complex tasks to meet deadlines. Experience of Functional Skills maths and English curriculum. Desirable Skills/Experience Sound knowledge of the Post 16 and Skills landscape and funding, including an awareness of Supported Internships. Experience of the use of digital learning platforms (e.g. Google Classroom and Teams). Experience in teaching and/or assessing over a range of qualification levels and programmes.
