Lewisham N2C Community Pilot Project Support Officer

Job Summary We have an exciting opportunity to support the implementation of a new community mental health pilot – a strategic priority for the Trust with national visibility through NHS England. Lewisham is one of six national sites selected to test a new model of care for adults with serious mental health needs, led by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust as part of the Lewisham Mental Health Alliance. Programme Aims Focus on people’s life stories & aspirations beyond diagnosis. Build trust & offer wider interventions including therapies, medication management & social support such as employment, leisure, housing and physical health. Involve the voluntary sector for community engagement. Address inequalities for Black communities, a key priority in Lewisham. Test an ‘open access’ model to eliminate waiting times. Provide a day service led by peer support workers with therapeutic & social activities. Offer intensive support for those at risk of crisis, including guest beds. Engage hard‑to‑reach individuals to reduce relapse and improve quality of life. Main Duties Postholder will play a key role in supporting the programme’s goals through administrative support, project coordination, monitoring and reporting, risk and issue management, document control and stakeholder engagement. They will work independently, prioritise competing demands and demonstrate flexibility and initiative when handling enquiries, promoting a professional and caring image of the team. Providing administrative support and coordinating day‑to‑day programme activities. Planning and managing meetings and forums: preparing agendas, recording actions and monitoring progress. Acting as the first point of contact for programme correspondence, using judgement to resolve issues. Establishing and maintaining systems and processes to ensure efficient delivery of programme objectives. Building strong relationships with stakeholders and communicating confidently at all levels. Keeping the programme team organised and proactively driving progress. Supporting event logistics, including venue booking, circulating instructions, managing attendance and distributing documentation. About Us South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) offers the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK, including substance misuse services. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. SLaM employs around 5,000 staff and serves a local population of 1.1 million people. It provides inpatient care for approximately 5,300 people each year and treats more than 45,000 patients in the community in Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
