Trainee Sensory & Communication Support Assistant – Full Time – Sunderland This full-time trainee position is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, teamwork, and supporting pupils with sensory and communication needs. You’ll be joining a specialist setting where every child’s learning pathway is personalised, routines are clear, and the staff team are incredibly supportive. Your role will include: Helping pupils use visual supports, schedules, and communication tools Encouraging emotional regulation through sensory activities Supporting calm transitions throughout the day Building strong, trusting relationships You’ll suit this role if you: Stay calm under pressure Enjoy working in a consistent, routine-based environment Have experience in care, youth work, sports coaching, nursery, or similar Are eager to learn and develop SEND skills With Protocol Education you get: Weekly PAYE pay Free CPD and online training Free Thrive training A consultant who acts like part of your team If you want a rewarding, hands‑on role where your work truly matters, this is for you.
