Overview Quality Controller role focused on safeguarding food safety and quality, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures, and supporting production and quality teams to prevent sub-standard ingredients and unsafe products leaving site. Responsibilities Conduct duties in a manner that safeguards your own safety and the safety of others. Ensure all activities comply with company procedures for Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene. Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; communicate required adjustments to the Quality Supervisor and/or Production Supervisor. Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; return products for re-work; confirm re-work. Complete paperwork and records of checks carried out, including weight checks, temperature checks, label checks, metal detection, and checkweigher checks where required. Communicate Internal and Supplier Non-Conformances through Daily Quality Reports. Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and highlighting repair needs. Support the production team and ensure prevention of use of sub-standard ingredients and the prevention of poor quality or potentially unsafe products leaving site. Support the NPD and Production teams during production trials. Report issues to the Quality Manager/Supervisor that may compromise food safety, food legality or product quality. Carry out any other reasonable working instruction from the Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager and Technical Manager. Desired Criteria Excellent communicator - both written and oral. Highly energetic, enthusiastic, and creative. Excellent planning and organising skills. IT literate. Experience working within a Quality Department within a food industry.
