On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit someone as a Software Engineer for a 12-month contract. As a Software Engineer, you will join a team implementing a demonstration system for a complex new Command and Control capability, extending existing concepts and logic. If the demonstration is successful, it may develop into a development project for a fully operational capability. Role Software Engineer Pay £65 per hour via Umbrella Contract 12‑month contract, Monday‑Friday, 37 hours per week. Location Bristol IR35 Status Inside Security Clearance SC to start Responsibilities Developing and testing complex C++ business logic. Collaborating with internal algorithm teams to create code that executes algorithms, implements complex transformation logic, and verification implementation. We expect several iterations using a CI/CD approach. Implementation of interfaces to internal and external systems. Extension of existing software to create components that will run in a virtual environment and support the deployment of software. Essential Requirements/Skills/Experience Strong experience in C++ application development. Strong background in software engineering, its realization and system-wide impact. Experience in CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Docker. Experience developing software for virtual environments. Knowledge of safety and security related development and associated standards is advantageous. Knowledge of Data Distribution Service (DDS) is advantageous.
