**Software Engineer - Salary £45-50k + mileage allowance (dependant on Experience) - Bristol**

**The Company
GPS manufacture motor control centres and LV switchgear and are a control systems specialist offering great working conditions and up to date technology. GPS is part of the Ross-Shire Engineering Group, which has 5 control companies and 12 other complementarybusinesses within the group. GPS is a recognised innovator and manufacturer with a local and national client base.

**The Role

**Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Software Engineer include, but are not limited to:

- FDS, PLC, HMI and SCADA software design and development.
- Provide technical input to review contract software requirements.
- Assist project managers to identify technical and time scale risks.
- Prepare and review the software product requirements, design and interface specifications.
- Ensuring that system and unit design specifications comply with the contractual safety standards.
- Identification of software related variation order opportunities.
- Comply with company policies and procedures concerning safety, environment and quality, and corresponding iso record keeping requirements.

**The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Software Engineer are:

- IT / electrical qualifications advantageous.
- 3 years software development experience, ideally with experience of the following platforms Siemens, Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley.
- Ability to multi-task and consistently hit deadlines.
- A track record of being able to learn and ask questions.
- A commitment and drive for quality, technical excellence, and results.
- Positive, can-do attitude and a helpful demeanour.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- An ability to meet deadlines and expectations.
