This role requires deep technical expertise in local payroll regulations, systems implementation, and vendor management. The Payroll Expert acts as the go‑to resource for complex payroll matters while driving continuous improvement in payroll processes.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and select relevant software for running payroll, incorporating Deel product technology requirementsEnsure accurate and timely execution of payroll in your region, as well as in other trained countriesPrepare and reconcile internal payroll reports, ensuring compliance with local tax authoritiesOwn all critical local payroll and HR processes, including setting up involuntary deductions, supporting onboardings and offboardings of employees on record in your regionSchedule payroll expenses collections and reconcile collections to expensesAssess and improve rapid growth processes and procedures, ensuring complianceStay informed of relevant local regulatory and policies changes, communicating and establishing key changes across teamsWork cross‑functionally to provide expertise on local payroll and HR matters in your regionAnswer complex payroll and HR related questions from employees and clients in your regionQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution5+ years of payroll and HR experience with experience in relevant countryStrong working knowledge of local regulations and policies related to payroll and HRAbility to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines timely and accuratelyStrong verbal and written skills to connect with clients and align with various stakeholdersStrong interpersonal skills, explaining complex issues at an understandable levelAdvanced knowledge of local payroll software solutionsIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google SheetsStrong proficiency in EnglishExperience managing technology and external payroll providers is an advantageExperience with implementation of new payrolls on an industry‑recognized payroll solution is preferredExperience in multiple country jurisdictions is an advantageExperience with multiple payroll technologies is an advantageTotal RewardsOur workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are.
