Service Hampshire 24/7 Substance Misuse Service is a county-wide, community engagement based service offering targeted and specialist treatment to young people aged 25 years and under. It is a forward thinking, person-centred service with credibility among young people. We are a multi-professional team with a designated worker in each district of Hampshire and support from Inclusion Recovery Hampshire and Parent Support Link. Role Substance Misuse Practitioner - Maternity cover in Hampshire will work with children and young people to make a positive difference to their lives. You will deliver specialist, targeted support to individuals up to age 25, offering confidential and non-judgemental advice and guidance regarding drug and alcohol use, using a variety of therapeutic interventions. This role requires access to a vehicle and a full current driving licence. The work can be challenging, but it is hugely rewarding. The services delivered by our Practitioners have shown real impact on service users, including outcomes such as user satisfaction and improved wellbeing. In addition to the comprehensive training package offered by Catch22, you will have opportunities to develop through training offered by Hampshire County Council, and to build networks with partner agencies and commissioners across the substance misuse sector. Qualifications and Experience We are looking for people with the following skills and experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people with complex needs or vulnerabilities (e.g., substance misuse, children’s mental health, children’s services, education, pastoral support, or SEN). An ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people. An adaptable and resilient outlook, with a commitment to supporting service users. Additional Information Salary: from £26,097 per annum depending on experience Hours of work: Full time, 37 hours per week Contract: Maternity cover until September 2026 Location: Our offices base is in Havant, but the role will cover East Hampshire You may work from home/remotely once or twice a week, depending on service requirements. You will be based in one of the hubs listed above, but the role will require regular travel across the region; a driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
