Mercor is hiring on behalf of a leading AI research lab to bring on a Linguistic Expert – Norwegian (Norway). This is a part-time position (10–20 hours per week, in person) at one of our client offices in San Francisco, New York, Atlanta, London, or Singapore. You’ll help refine AI systems’ understanding of Norwegian (Bokmål), ensuring natural, context-aware, and culturally sensitive outputs. Responsibilities Review and rate AI-generated Norwegian text for grammar, fluency, and tone. Provide expert linguistic and cultural feedback. Develop clear guidelines for style and terminology consistency. Collaborate with technical teams to enhance Norwegian-specific performance. Recommend improvements to data and linguistic models. Requirements Native-level proficiency in Norwegian (Bokmål) and fluency in English. Deep understanding of Norwegian grammar, syntax, and stylistics. Bachelor’s in Linguistics, Translation, or related field. Prior experience in annotation, proofreading, or translation preferred. Interest or experience in AI/NLP tools is advantageous.
