Project ManagerThis challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a good technical background and demonstrable experience in taking the responsibility for delivering piling, foundations or geotechnical engineering sites and projects.Due to sustained growth, a significant forward order workload and a continued commitment to be at the forefront of the industry, our client is now searching for a talented and motivated professional with demonstrable experience in the piling, foundations or ground engineering sectors. Supporting the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will have the day-to-day responsibility for the safe, timely and profitable delivery of a wide variety of projects and schemes (singular or multiple), often running simultaneously at differing stages of completion. This will include managing sizeable teams, and resolving any technical, operational and commercial issues pertaining to the projects being undertaken.The RolePlan, programme and deliver contracts in conjunction with the regional team, internal departments, and subcontractors in accordance with company policyTake responsibility for all assigned projects, including the review of estimates and designs to ensure buildability, and leading projects with the client from receipt of order to completionAttend pre-contract and regular site meetings with the client, clients agents and key sub-contractors (internal and external) to ensure the smooth running of contractsInspect works in progress to ensure conformance to QA procedures and specification, and that schemes are delivered in accordance with the correct designs and specificationsEnsure HSEQ plans and RAMS are prepared for contracts in accordance with company policyAttend regular meetings with the contracts team to provide progress reports on projects, and if required, offer proposals or recommendations to enable successful deliveryProvide technical and operational input into estimates for schemesAssist in the preparation of proposals during the pre-tender phase as requiredEnsure the commercial team is provided with all relevant information, documentation and instructions to support contract variations and final accounts submissions for paymentCarry out toolbox talks as requiredEnsure all projects are planned and executed in accordance with company policy, whilst maintaining and improving the professional and progressive image of the company wherever possibleAnalyse and interpret detailed client requirements, drawings and specificationsWork under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed and calm mannerAssist the business as a whole to meet their financial targetsHelp to manage suppliers and sub-contractors to improve safety, performance and profitThe PersonPossessing a proven track record in a contracts or projects management role from within any area of the piling, foundations, retaining structures or ground engineering sectorsTo have assisted in the development and delivery of projects with a diplomatic and pragmatic approach, but also with a hands-on attitude to clients, sub-contractors and team managementTo possess first-hand exposure to various technically complex and challenging contracts, and therefore able to demonstrate a tenacious, lead from the front approachTo hold experience of a variety of projects, including multi discipline techniquesMust possess a solid understanding of all stages of the project contracting process, coupled with the ability to manage and develop yourself both technically and commerciallyGood levels of experience at pre, in-situ and post contract stagesAble to identify the requirements of assigned projects to efficiently and effectively produce the most appropriate delivery plan or programmeCorrespond and negotiate with clients, suppliers, contractors and colleaguesEfficiently manage situations when workload presents conflicting demands on time and availability, demonstrating an ability to effectively prioritise and scheduleMonitor, progress and implement controls to ensure tasks are achieved to time, cost and qualityDevelop and select effective solutions to challenging and complex project requirements, considering risk and opportunityCommunicate facts, ideas and proposals to all stakeholders (internally or externally) in an effective and persuasive mannerDeliver efficient and effective customer service at all timesOur ClientOur client is a market leading piling, foundations, retaining structures and ground engineering contractor.
