Base pay range Direct message the job poster from OCR Alpha OCR Alpha are partnered with a multi-strategy hedge fund to hire a Senior Operations / Operations Manager to own day‑to‑day trading operations and platform control in London. This is a newly created role driven by growth in the long/short and market neutral equity business, with a clear path toward leadership as the platform scales. What you’ll be responsible for: Full trade lifecycle ownership: trade capture, affirmation, settlement (T+1 / T+2), lifecycle events, break resolution, corporate actions, and cash / financing oversight. Managing margin, collateral and funding — making sure positions are financed correctly and cost‑effectively. Monitoring and reconciling cash and positions across multiple primes, custodians and administrators, and driving issues to resolution quickly. Working directly with PMs, Treasury / financing, Compliance and Risk to ensure trades are booked correctly, reported correctly and supported correctly. Acting as the operational face of the fund to external partners: prime brokers, custodians, fund administrators and other key infrastructure providers. Maintaining and improving the control environment (reporting, disclosures, reference data, static data, SSI governance). The platform runs global long/short, market neutral and other absolute return strategies. Product exposure includes listed and synthetic instruments across equities, ETFs, swaps, derivatives and other liquid products (credit / macro exposure is also relevant). What we’re looking for: 5+ years’ experience in hedge fund operations, prime brokerage, prop trading support or a desk‑aligned middle office role supporting live trading. Someone comfortable with funding, settlement risk, corporate actions, margin/collateral and regulatory touchpoints. Proven ability to improve process, not just run BAU. Strong communication with PMs and senior stakeholders; credibility under time pressure. The role is based in London and is primarily in‑office to allow direct access to portfolio managers and leadership. You’ll have visibility, autonomy and genuine influence over how the operational platform runs and scales. This is a high‑impact seat with real progression.
