The Account Manager (Sales) is responsible for managing client relationships, driving revenue growth, and identifying new business opportunities. The role focuses on maintaining long‑term customer satisfaction, understanding client needs, and delivering solutions that support business objectives. The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and plays a key role in developing sales strategies and achieving revenue targets. Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities) Act as the main contact for assigned accounts, ensuring consistent communication and relationship‑building. Understand client business goals, challenges, and priorities to provide tailored solutions. Conduct regular review meetings to ensure service satisfaction and identify upsell/cross‑sell opportunities. Address client issues promptly and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution. Develop account plans and strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and drive revenue expansion. Coordinate proposals, quotations, and negotiation of pricing or contract terms. Track sales performance metrics and forecast pipeline opportunities accurately. Identify prospective clients, research market segments, and participate in lead generation activities. Conduct product/service presentations, demos, and pitches to potential customers. Participate in networking events, trade shows, and industry meetings to build business relationships. Work closely with marketing, operations, customer success, and product teams to deliver value‑added solutions. Ensure commitments made during the sales process are followed through in delivery. Monitor customer satisfaction levels and negotiate contract renewals. Maintain accurate records of interactions, opportunities, and account activity in CRM systems. Prepare sales reports, revenue projections, and performance updates for management. Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform sales strategies. Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2–5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business development. Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, Dynamics 365, or equivalent. Ability to manage sales pipelines, track leads, and generate reports from CRM tools. Familiarity with sales automation tools, dashboards, and forecasting systems. Strong ability in consultative selling, negotiation, and closing deals. Experience creating proposals, quotations, and commercial documents. Understanding of sales metrics (CAC, LTV, conversion rate, forecast accuracy). Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and influence clients. Ability to manage challenging client situations with professionalism. Understanding of market dynamics, competitor landscape, and industry trends. Ability to articulate value propositions tailored to client needs. Analytical thinking to identify opportunities and provide strategic account guidance. Ability to work cross‑functionally to deliver client requirements. Strong organisational and time‑management skills. Capability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise workload effectively. Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and managing key accounts. Professional certifications in sales (e.g., CPSP, NASP, Sandler, Miller Heiman) are beneficial but not mandatory.
