Responsibilities Collecting dirty and soiled laundry from the Care Floor Was napkin, kitchen cloth and SPA towels To collect the clothing and bedding from our residents’ apartments To wash, dry and iron all laundry to the standards required and return to the rooms. Make sure all clothing is labelled and in good condition Make sure the laundry is cleaned daily (floor, window sills, tops of dryers and washers) On occasions to cover annual leave / sickness The Laundry Assistant will also be required to complete general housekeeping duties such as vacuuming, removing bins, cleaning toilets and bathrooms, as directed, ensuring that our residents’ care home facilities, public areas and individual properties are maintained to the highest cleaning standards Reporting all safety hazards to management, ensuring Health and Safety standards and COSSH are adhered to at all times. Qualifications You’ll have experience in a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role, with a basic understanding of infection control, COSSH and compliance standards. Friendly and approachable, you’ll build long lasting professional relationships with your colleagues, residents and their families. You understand the importance of maintaining a safe working environment and have a keen eye for detail – taking pride in your work. With strong communication skills, you’re able to work well as part of a team, across functions and services. Because we care for vulnerable people, we’ll need you to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost of this (£40).
