Overview Teaching Personnel are currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to start part-time in a primary school based in Stoke, starting after October half-term. This is a long-term role with the opportunity to go permanent on the school. About the role Start-date: 17th November Part-time to support a student’s phased return to school As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working 1-1 with a pupil to improve the transition coming back into school. The student is non-verbal and has complex SEN as well as physical needs. You will work closely with the student to support socially, emotionally and academically. This includes creating engaging sensory activities as well as aiming to improve the student’s confidence and communication. You will work closely with the student’s parents/carers to provide regular progress updates, as well as external agencies when necessary. What we’re looking for Experience working with young people with complex SEN needs is necessary Good knowledge of SEN practices and ability to create engaging learning experiences Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both the student and other staff members A calm, supportive, and empathetic approach Safeguarding training (must be completed through Teaching Personnel) If you’re interested in this opportunity, please apply with your CV and a consultant will be in contact within 2 working days.
