OverviewJohn Sisk & Son Ltd is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our UK Build Business Unit. The project is a residential development worth approximately £150m in London. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take full commercial responsibility and ownership of the project, working closely with the Contracts Manager / Project Manager and the construction team to ensure a successful delivery while maximising commercial returns and managing risk.ResponsibilitiesIntegrate the commercial strategy and adapt the MQS as the project evolves.Liaise with and commercially influence or challenge the other members of the team and the construction process.Take ownership of, administer and represent the company in commercial and contractual issues, including but not limited to preparing tenders, analysing suppliers, finalising supplier orders and managing construction finance to final account completion.Prepare and present forecasts, targets and CV reconciliations.Prepare and agree valuations, generate certificates and invoice/payments.Prepare variation records, agree works progress and update projected final accounts on a regular basis.Involve in value engineering and design development.Maintain and protect JSS commercial and contractual entitlements.Establish and maintain prelim controls and monitoring.Control site records, admin and document control.Manage insurance and warranties.Review and update the project risk/opportunity plan and manage risk arising and opportunities.Maintain an independent CVR view in commercial reporting following the Valuation Policy.Manage and oversee the junior commercial staff.Support the pre-construction department in tenders and 2‑stage tenders.QualificationsCommercial appreciation and the ability to communicate articulately, both verbally and in writing.Behavioural Based Safety (BBS).Adjudication / dispute resolution skills.Leadership and delegation skills.Introduction to management.Legal appreciation / overview.CPD – legislation & industry trends.Commercial CVR appreciation.Presentation and communication skills.Commercially inventive and astute.Additional InformationCompetitive salary.26 days annual leave plus additional company days.Pension and benefits.Unlimited learning and development opportunities.Much more.Our People and Recruitment CommitmentAt Sisk Group our people are at the heart of our success.
