You will lead a specialist surveying and technical team, ensuring accurate diagnosis of complex defects (structural movement, damp, mould and disrepair), deliver high-quality inspections and surveys, and drive operational excellence while providing strong leadership to Building Surveyors and Technical Inspectors.This is a hybrid role, so you’ll work from home/onsite and at least one day a week from our fantastic office at Hudson Quay in Middlesbrough. We’ll need you to be flexible around business and team need, so you may need to come into the office more frequently when required.Thirteen BenefitsSalary £52,114 per annumAnnual leave starting at 28 days and rising to 31 days after three years, a day off for your birthday, plus bank holidays.Pension up to 17% contributions (flexible contribution rates of up to 7% colleague and up to 10% employer).Simply Health save money on common health expenses and get access to health and wellbeing support services.T’dar our Discount and Reward platform giving you huge savings on everyday brands.Opportunities to buy and sell annual leave.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Surveying and Technical team to deliver accurate, right-first-time diagnosis of structural defects, damp, mould and disrepairOversee inspections, surveys and quality control, carrying out complex surveys yourself when requiredManage team performance against KPIs, budgets and resources, ensuring value for moneyMonitor and manage the performance of specialist contractors and consultantsProvide expert technical advice on building pathology, structural defects and non-destructive testingAct as project manager on structural repair and complex defect schemesAbout YouHNC or degree-level qualification in Building Surveying (or equivalent professional experience)You’ll have a full UK driving licenceExtensive experience in building surveying, structural diagnosis, damp, mould, disrepair and emergency hazards within social housing or a similar environmentProven ability to lead and performance-manage technical/surveying teamsStrong budget and resource management skills with a focus on cost control and value for moneyExperience of managing contractor performance, quality and invoicingExcellent customer focus and communication skillsWhy Thirteen Group?We’re more than just a housing association we’re a community builder.
