Job Overview We are looking to recruit a part‑time Individual Needs Assistant to work in our Reception class, supporting a pupil as they transition into primary school. The role involves supporting an individual child with their learning and developmental needs in class. Working Hours and Flexibility The role is currently mornings only (8.30am-12pm), but ideally, we are looking for flexibility and someone who can extend their hours as there may be a need to increase to afternoons or support in another class in the afternoons. Please state on your application form if you can work part-time or full-time. Start Date January 2026, or sooner if available. Employment Terms The role has come about because of additional funding and is therefore fixed‑term until either the end of the academic year or until funding ceases. Safeguarding and Background Checks Groombridge St Thomas is committed to safeguarding, and the successful candidate will be required to provide two references and complete a DBS check. Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018 This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018. The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self‑declaration form as part of the pre‑employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
