ROC Consulting part of the RSK Group have an exciting opportunity fora Structural Design Engineer to their team in Manchester, UK.The primary function of a Structural Design Engineer will entail producing design calculations for building structures in all common materials, under the supervision of a senior or principal engineer.The role will also involve survey and assessment of existing structures, communication of design details and concepts via sketches and drawings, checking designs produced by others, liaising with architects, contractors and other construction professionals and attending site as required.A Graduate Structural Engineer will be expected to undertake training as directed by the business and work towards the attainment of chartered status with the Institution of Structural Engineers or other similar organisation.ResponsibilitiesTo produce design calculations for new and existing structures and to check design calculations produced by othersTo produce sketch drawings as required to communicate design concepts and construction detailsTo review and check drawings, including RC detail drawings, to ensure that the design information is correct prior to issueTo produce specifications and reportsTo undertake site surveys to accurately access and appraise as built details of existing structures and prepare sketches of the sameTo undertake construction site inspections to check the quality of workmanship and compliance of construction with the drawn detailsLiaising with architects, contractors and other construction professionalsTo attend site meetings with Contractors and professional team membersTo comply with the company’s Quality Assurance proceduresTo undertake training and initial professional development (IPD) as requiredPerson specificationBeng or Meng in civil and / or structural engineeringAiming to become a Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructEStructural Engineering design experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsFull UK driving licenceThe RSK Group are an equal opportunity company#Surveyor #recruitment #rskfamilyRSK will not accept unsolicited CVs from agencies other than RSK PSL or Secondary agencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
