ST3-6 Training Post in Interventional Radiology Apply for a ST3-6 training post in Interventional Radiology at NHS Tayside. These posts are 1–3 years depending on training needs; one post is available, commencing August 2026 onwards. The post is suitable for candidates who have completed ST3 and will be able to take up this post at ST4 level. Training will follow the RCR Interventional Radiology Curriculum, with the successful candidate required to obtain FRCR and aim to pass the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) exam. Training in a full range of vascular and non‑vascular Interventional Radiology procedures will be provided and can be tailored to the trainee’s needs. The trainee will use the RCR section in RISR/advance e‑portfolio and actively engage in RCR WpBAs. The trainee will defer CCT by one year and will be awarded the CCT with IR subspecialisation at the end of year 6 based on successful ARCP outcomes. The post holder will be on call for general radiology on a no fewer than 1:7 basis on a partial shift system with prospective cover. In year 6, depending on progression you will take part in the emergency interventional radiology on‑call rota (1:5). Key Responsibilities Participate in the RCR Interventional Radiology curriculum and acquire competencies in both general and interventional radiology. Perform a full range of vascular and non‑vascular interventional procedures under supervision. Use the RCR section in RISR/advance e‑portfolio to document training and engage in RCR WpBAs. Maintain general radiology skills and take part in a general radiology on‑call rota (1:7) and emergency interventional radiology on‑call rota (1:5) in year 6. Qualifications and Requirements National Training Number (NTN) in radiology. At least three years of radiology training with satisfactory Annual Review of Competence (ARCP) outcomes. Completed ST3 and eligible to start at ST4 level. Ambition to achieve FRCR and pass the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) exam. Successful candidate will defer CCT by one year and receive CCT with IR subspecialisation after year 6.
