Overview We have a wonderful opportunity for a full‑time Activities Co‑ordinator to plan, organise and run a social and recreational activity programme within the Centre and the wider community. What you’ll be working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week (Monday to Sunday). Shift patterns may vary depending on patient need – possible shifts include 08:00‑16:00, 12:00‑20:00, 14:00‑22:00. Weekend work may be required. A full driving licence is essential for this role. What you’ll be doing Organise and implement a comprehensive activities programme that meets the complex needs of patients in the Centre. Coordinate activities for individuals and in groups. Liaise with Therapy and Nursing staff to ensure activities suit patient capabilities. Plan and facilitate external outings with appropriate transport. Ensure the programme includes relevant seasonal and cultural events. Extend existing links with community services and organisations (e.g., cinemas, museums, zoos, theatres). Support and encourage staff and relatives to participate where relevant. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, patients, relatives, carers and volunteers. Participate in service development projects as required. Obtain quotes for services and equipment (e.g., games, performers). Work with your line manager to keep the programme cost‑effective. Maintain records and ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Ensure safe custody and regular maintenance of equipment in line with policy. Take responsibility for professional and personal development and attend all relevant training. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Fire Safety, etc. Key Skills & Qualities Excellent communication skills – written, telephone and face‑to‑face – with patients, relatives, visitors, staff and external agencies. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, patients and senior professional and managerial staff. Enhanced DBS check and full driving licence with ability to transport patients in the company car or van to off‑site activities. Proven reliability in attendance and time‑keeping. Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality, health and safety, and willingness to follow policies and procedures. Flexibility, adaptability and a dedication to treating everyone with dignity and respect. Willingness to undertake other relevant roles and responsibilities as required. Desirably, experience in an activities coordinator role with patients with neurological conditions or in‑patient care.
