Field Service Engineer – Rail HVAC & Mechanical Systems

Location: Derby-based with UK travel
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 + van + overtime

We’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to support rail HVAC and mechanical systems across UK client sites. This mobile role blends hands-on diagnostics with customer-facing service delivery, backed by a well-established Derby-based engineering firm that’s expanding fast.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Conducting on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of rail HVAC/mechanical units

* Liaising with clients and internal teams to ensure high service standards

* Completing documentation and upholding safety protocols

* Travelling to client sites across the UK (with occasional overnight stays)

* Supporting workshop operations when required

What You’ll Bring

* Strong background in HVAC or mechanical engineering

* FGAS certification and rail experience (preferred)

* Full UK driving licence (essential)

* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

* Confidence working independently and managing your own field schedule
