OverviewFINANCIAL CONTROLLER, EPPING, ESSEX (OFFICE BASED) — £70,000 to £85,000 BASE (NEGOTIABLE)We're supporting a well-established business in Essex that is looking for an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager (no.2 in finance) to take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the Finance Director with timely and accurate financial reporting, process improvements, and strategic decision-making.This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong technical skills and proven leadership experience who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.The perfect opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to join the business in a No.2 in finance role and work closely with the Finance Director and play a key part in the strategic direction of the business.ResponsibilitiesAs the Financial Controller / Finance Manager, you\'ll report directly to the Finance Director and take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance function across all ledgersDeliver monthly management accounts, financial statements, and associated reporting to strict deadlinesManage cashflow, monitor daily cash levels, and ensure timely forecastingSupervise payroll (weekly and monthly), HMRC submissions, and RTI complianceOversee staff management including reviews, training and developmentReview and approve purchase ledger BACS payments and sales ledger credit limitsPrepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax, and year-end schedules for auditManage foreign currency transactions, TT payments, and letters of creditEnsure accurate stock reporting, reconciliations, and perpetual inventory countsProvide financial analysis and recommendations to the Finance Director and wider leadership teamIdentify process improvements across finance, systems, and reportingAct as main liaison with auditors and external stakeholdersEnsure compliance and safeguarding of company assetsRequirementsQualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)Must have solid experience in a Financial Controller role, or similar, such as Finance Manager, Head of Finance, Finance Director, or Senior Management AccountantMust have experience in a product-based industry, such as; Manufacturing, Retail, Wholesale, Engineering, Logistics, or similar.Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and UK compliance requirementsSkilled in cashflow management, reporting, and process improvementExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a teamStrong IT skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft 365 (experience with ERP/accounting systems advantageous)Commercially minded, proactive, and detail-focused with a strong drive to meet deadlinesTo applyTO APPLY: Please send your CV for the Financial Controller / Finance Manager position via the advert for immediate consideration.By sending an application or applying for a job, you consent to your personal data being processed and stored by Get Recruited (UK) Ltd in accordance with our Cookie & Privacy Policy (available in the footer on our website).
