We will have permanent and fixed‑term Staff Nurse vacancies available at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in the Acute & General Medicine Directorate. The team is preparing for winter by increasing bed capacity and opening a winter ward. Existing acute medicine nurses will cover this but we need excellent, committed nurses with a love of caring for the elderly, stroke, or infectious disease patients to work in our established wards. These positions start just after Christmas/New Year, so you need to be able to start as soon as January 2026. The role is focused on carrying out clinical practice within designated areas, ensuring that high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, interventions and evaluations are provided from admission through to discharge. You will advocate for patients, promote a patient‑oriented approach, support patients’ rights, recognise and avoid situations detrimental to health, advise on health promotion, develop and initiate nursing assessments, devise plans of care, and ensure patients have a safe and appropriate discharge plan. All nursing procedures and treatments are performed to the highest possible standards. Responsibilities Act as a clinical nurse in designated acute medicine sites. Deliver evidence‑based assessment, care planning, intervention and evaluation from admission to discharge. Advocate for patients and promote a patient‑centred approach. Recognise and implement safe discharge planning. Maintain high quality nursing procedures and treatments. Qualifications (Internationally Educated Nurses) Current active RN NMC PIN. Post‑NMC registration experience working as a Staff Nurse in an acute hospital setting in the NHS.
