Location: Peterborough, England, United Kingdom Responsibilities Polishing parts to required standard by sanding out welds flat, rounding corners. Using tools such as sanders, belt sanders, die grinders, orbital sanders. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, sanding, or shot-blasting as required. Applying primers, topcoats, and other industrial finishes using spray guns or other application methods. Inspect painted surfaces for coverage, thickness, and consistency according to specifications and drawings. Perform touch-ups and rework as needed when contracts are dispatched. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with health and safety policies and 5S methodologies. Track usage and report low stock of paints, solvents, and consumables to the Section Leader. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure timely completion of production targets. Qualifications Ability to work in a team environment and offer improvement ideas. No formal qualifications required; experience in industrial painting is essential. Familiarity with spray-painting and polishing equipment and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings or work instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working with minimal supervision. Basic understanding of Health & Safety and PPE requirements in an industrial environment is ideal. Flexibility to work overtime as required. Forklift or overhead crane license beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles beneficial but not essential.
