Join us at Baker Perkins where we push boundaries in the food industry.We are now hiring an Industrial Painter/Polisher for our site in Peterborough.Are you a skilled and reliable Industrial Painter/Polisher Were looking for you to join our skilled production team.As the successful candidate you will be responsible for preparing all manufactured parts in either polishing to required standard or applying industrial coatings to metal and fabricated components. You will ensure high-quality finishes which meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. As an Industrial Painter/Finisher you will play a key part in maintaining production schedules and upholding safety & quality standards.Main DutiesPolishing parts to required standard by sanding out welds flat rounding cornersUsing tools such as sanders belt sanders die grinders orbital sandersPrepare surfaces by cleaning masking sanding or shot-blasting as requiredApplying primers topcoats and other industrial finishes using spray guns or other application methodsInspecting painted surfaces for coverage thickness and consistency according to specifications and drawingsPerforming touch-ups and rework as needed when contracts are despatchedMaintaining a clean safe and organised work area in line with health and safety policies and 5S methodologiesTracking usage and reporting low stock of paints solvents and consumables to the Section LeaderWorking collaboratively with other departments to ensure timely completion of production targetsCandidate ProfileAbility to work in a team environment and offer improvement ideasNo formal qualifications required however experience in industrial panting is essential Familiarity with spray-painting and polishing equipment and safety proceduresAbility to read and interpret basic engineering drawings or work instructionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityReliable punctual and capable of working with minimal supervisionBasic understanding of Health & Safety and PPE requirements in an industrial environment is idealFlexibility to work overtime as requiredForklift or overhead crane license beneficial but not essentialKnowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles beneficial but not essentialJoin us to Shape What Matters for TomorrowWho we are:Coperion is an industry leader in compounding and extrusion feeding and weighing bulk material handling and service bringing a wealth of know-how and experience to the market.
