Job Overview The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a professionally accredited registered psychotherapist and/or counsellor. The School requires a qualified practitioner to teach on our Level 4 Adult part time day (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays), but may also include teaching across other Counselling programmes, including Levels 2, 3, and Level 5 (Wednesdays). Responsibilities You’ll take responsibility for teaching, marking and providing tutorial support for Counselling courses and you’ll contribute to all aspects of the work of the Section/School and this will include occasional ‘out of hours’ activities (such as selection days, interviews, and open events). Qualifications Professional qualification to practice in Counselling or Psychotherapy (minimum L6 Diploma or Honours Degree). Practicing member/accredited of BACP, UKCP or an equivalent professional body (or willing to gain this). Minimum 3 years’ post‑qualification experience. Teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) with experience teaching counselling to at least level 3 or above, or a similar level/on a similar subject. Supervision qualification or experience of providing clinical supervision to groups or individuals in a counselling setting. Ability to assess students’ work/skills and be a creative, resourceful and effective educator able to convey knowledge, support the development of skills and maintain boundaries whilst providing warm and empathic relationships with students. Ideally familiar with national educational standards and BACP awarding/validating body requirements for the appropriate level.
