Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm (term time)

About the Role

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for a small specialist SEMH school based in the LE8 area. The school supports children who have struggled in mainstream settings, offering a highly structured, nurturing environment with very small class sizes and a high staff-to-student ratio.

Students access a mix of academic lessons, outdoor learning and therapeutic activities. The school's approach is calm, consistent and tailored to each child.

What You'll Be Doing

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Helping students regulate emotions and build positive behaviour routines
Supporting learning in the classroom, outdoors and during creative activities
Building strong, trusting relationships with students
Implementing personalised behaviour and learning plans
Encouraging independence, resilience and confidence

What We're Looking For

Experience supporting children or young people (school, youth work, coaching, residential care etc.)
Confident managing behaviour in a calm, supportive way
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS or willingness to applySports coaches and candidates with mentoring experience often do particularly well in this setting.
