We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK and Maranello in Italy – each powered by passionate, loyal and hardworking team ambassadors. At MoneyGram Haas F1 Team – known within the paddock as the ‘family team’ – you’ll be involved in many different areas of the team, have much wider visibility across the business, and will be able to clearly see your contribution to our team.Yes, you’ll learn from us, but we expect to learn from you tooKey ResponsibilitiesPromote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.Support of events, including all FIA Formula 1 Championship races, from either trackside or the Factory Race Support Room.Pre-event simulations and reports, in-event support, and post-race analysis.Competitor Analysis both during a race weekend and between events, aiding and assisting other departments if applicable.Improve existing tools and help develop the direct the strategy group.Numerical and Statistical analysis of data.Development of the existing tools used in strategy operations and procedures.Researching and implementing new analysis, methodologies, software tools and techniques for future developments.Assisting with pitstop analysis (both competitor and team), analysing data and provide detailed feedback to the pit crew.Take ownership of the Race Strategy systems, making sure they are set up and running correctly and troubleshooting any issues that may occur.Follow all safety regulations in all venues.Other duties as assigned by the Head of Strategy or their designee.Education and Work ExperienceA degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, Mathematics or Physics.Experience in data analysis, numerical and statistical methodologies and their applications.Strong problem solving, logical thinking with research and reporting skills are essential.At least 3 years’ experience within a high-level motorsport environment, including significant strategy experience.Specialized Knowledge and SkillsSignificant technical experience of Race Strategy.Experience of data analysis.Experience of competition analysis.Strong understanding of vehicle & tyre performance.Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations, whilst prioritising and managing the workload efficiently.Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.Equipment and ApplicationsExperience in programming (MATLAB, Python and/or C#) would be beneficial.Experience with databases, both in creation and management desirable.Experience in data analysis preferably using MAT ATLAS.Technical experience of Formula 1 Race Strategy tools, SBG Racewatch would be beneficial.Work Environment and Physical DemandsAn ability to work and prioritise within a high pressure, time-sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require extensive international and domestic travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends. This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. The work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids.
