About the Company A well‑established residential groundworks contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of multiple housing developments across County Durham. This role offers long‑term stability and the chance to work with a respected contractor in the regional housing sector. About the Role The Quantity Surveyor will manage all commercial and financial aspects of residential groundworks projects—from tender through to final account—ensuring profitability, accuracy and compliance throughout. Responsibilities Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and valuations Complete take‑offs and produce accurate tender submissions Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and variations Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts Track project costs, forecasts and cash flow Work closely with site teams and clients to resolve commercial matters Maintain accurate project records and documentation Support monthly commercial and financial reporting Qualifications Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred) Required Skills Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundworks or residential civil engineering Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Clear communication, negotiation and organisational skills Ability to manage multiple projects independently Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend sites Pay Range & Compensation Package Salary up to £55,000 Pension and company benefits Long‑term career opportunities within a growing contractor Equal Opportunity Statement We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices.
