We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Operations Assistant to join our Operations team at our office in Telford.Interested? If you are passionate and enjoy making a difference – AMP can offer you the challenge and opportunity you’re looking for.The role will involveCollating information provided by site and driver supervisorsReviewing and challenging costs from fleet suppliers and garages against agreed termsMonitoring fuel and maintenance costs, highlighting and reporting anomaliesWorking with the Fleet department to manage costs and ensure vehicle availabilityCollaborating with the Sales and Data Support Analyst to produce end-of-month reports for the Transport Operations ManagerCompiling and maintaining vehicle and depot maintenance plans from sitesContributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process efficiencies in transport operationsPreparing monthly driver overtime and hours in coordination with supervisors for the Transport Operations ManagerSupporting planning activities to maximise vehicle utilisation and route efficiencyCarrying out general administrative dutiesWhat we are looking forExperience in delivering administration support in a fast moving and demanding operational environment, our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:Demonstrable experience working in a transport or fleet operations environmentExperience liaising with garages, suppliers, and external stakeholdersExperience producing reports and supporting operational managementProficient in Microsoft Excel and confident with data handling and reportingStrong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirementsIn-depth knowledge of transport systems, regulations, and operational processesFamiliarity with Sage or similar computerised transport/finance systemsGood understanding of cost control and financial awarenessWhat we will offer in returnWe’ve built a culture founded on honesty, working hard, and enjoying ourselves, and have created a workplace where everyone feels more connected, heard, and valued.You’ll receive, ongoing training and development, be encouraged to work towards relevant accreditations and be able to map out a clear journey of progression within your role.
