Mobile Contact Lens Optician

OverviewAs a Mobile Contact Lens Optician, you will work across different stores within a defined geographical area to support our stores with cover when people are out of the business. This is a role where you lead and inspire the opticians team to deliver patient-centred care and ensure our customers and patients feel confident with their contact lenses.Reporting to a Store Manager / Hub Manager, you will support the safe running of the opticians business, be an expert in the technical aspects of the products you recommend, and in the sale and supply of contact lenses and optical appliances around the area.ResponsibilitiesBe an expert in the Boots Opticians contact lens product portfolio.Be the go-to person for knowledge about complete care solutions, services and offers and use this information to create lifelong patients and customers through appropriate recommendations.Supervise the development, education and training of colleagues and support and mentor students.Seek opportunities to engage with local commissioners and external healthcare professionals.Support the Divisional Contact Lens Lead in growing the business, helping stores identify new opportunities for customers to wear contact lenses, and support confidence with store teams and clinicians in driving contact lens trials.Work in partnership with the local management team to deliver both contact lens and ophthalmology-led services.Be a proud ambassador, with a desire for Boots to be the first choice for patients for their contact lens needs.Travel to different stores within the area.What you\'ll need to haveThese are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role.Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).Optical expertise.Passion to improve customer care and ensure high clinical standards.Motivated to own your learning and development, completing all educational training CET as part of the GOC requirement.Strong relationships within the opticians world and respected by peers, customers and external local professionals.Digitally savvy and comfortable with navigating and embracing new technology.Willingness and ability to travel.It would be great if you also haveThese are desirable skills or experience and are not essential, so we would welcome applications from candidates that don\'t match this additional criteria.Experience making clinical decisions.Experience coaching and training colleagues.BenefitsBoots Retirement Savings Plan.Discretionary annual bonus.Generous employee discounts.Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child.Flexible benefits scheme.Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.We have a great range of benefits in addition to the above that offer flexibility to suit you – find out more at boots.jobs/rewards.
