The Opportunity We are looking for an exceptional candidate with proven communication and leadership skills, experience engaging with a range of partners and stakeholders including policymakers and the public, and the ability to apply these skills to a large data linkage research and infrastructure programme that aims to provide data-driven evidence and insights for policy and public good. The post-holder will work for the ADR Scotland programme, which is funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and is led by the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the delivery of ADR Scotland’s knowledge exchange, impact, public engagement and communications strategy and approach. Working closely with the Scottish Government, the post-holder will engage with a range of groups from across disciplines and sectors to drive impact awareness and trust in administrative data research. The post-holder will also deputise for the Programme Lead and represent ADR Scotland within the University and to other partners and agencies. The team is multi-disciplinary, including colleagues from the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Napier as well as Scottish Government departments and other delivery partners such as Research Data Scotland. The post is a fixed-term maternity cover until mid-January 2027. Applications for secondments are welcome. This position is full-time (35 hours per week). We are also open to considering part‑time or flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working on a non-contractual basis that combines remote and on-campus work. The salary for this post is £50,253 to £61,759 per annum. Your skills and attributes for success Proven experience of developing and delivering strategic plans involving external and internal partners. Significant understanding of the field of knowledge exchange impact and engagement. Clear and effective communication skills, able to relate to a wide range of people and audiences. Ability to act diplomatically and map out the risks and benefits of potential solutions to problems arising. A structured and proactive approach to work, comfortable with multi-tasking and able to re-prioritise as required.
