Vessel Master – Middlesbrough Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a well-known logistics and marine business in Middlesbrough in their search for an experienced Vessel Master. About the Role * Week on / week off (12-hour shifts) * Home every night – no overnight stays onboard * Salary: £48,857 Key Responsibilities * Ensure the safe and efficient operation, handling, and navigation of the vessel in compliance with maritime law and company procedures * Maintain full responsibility for the vessel’s seaworthiness and operational readiness * Oversee ISM compliance, ensuring all procedures and documentation are correctly followed and maintained * Lead, supervise, and support the crew, including onboarding, ongoing training, and performance management * Conduct regular safety drills and take a lead role in emergency response situations * Monitor and report on vessel performance, maintenance needs, and operational issues * Work closely with Port Authorities, contractors, pilots, and internal teams to ensure smooth marine operations * Ensure all logs, records, and reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner * Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all crew members adhere to health and safety standards * Support continuous improvement across marine operations, identifying opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency, and compliance What We’re Looking For * Proven command experience * Valid ENG 1 Medical * Minimum STCW Master CoC
