Overview Building Surveyor - Scotland at Sedgwick, Girvan, Scotland, United Kingdom. Permanent position with a competitive remuneration package. You will lead and manage projects to restore properties damaged by insured perils, with values ranging from £50k to £5m. Depending on project size, you may work alone or lead a small team with QSs, CAD technicians, and engineers. Responsibilities Lead and manage projects to restore insured properties (values from £50k to £5m). Conduct technical reporting, defect diagnosis, prepare Schedules of Works, contract administration, and project management. Empathise with clients who have suffered loss or bereavement and deliver professional reports within tight deadlines. Manage workloads and make reasoned decisions under pressure. Collaborate with Loss Adjusting teams and, where appropriate, attract non-insurance clients. Qualifications A full UK Driving Licence (essential for travel by car). Excellent communication skills – ability to speak with and write to policyholders, insurers, contractors, and others; explain complex details clearly and negotiate settlements. Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation. Chartered status (or working towards). MRICS or MCIOB preferred; at minimum actively working towards Chartered status. Helpful (Not Vital) In Your Application Use of Apple software such as iPads or other tablets.
