The Social Work Team Manager for the Family Help (Pre & Post Birth) Team will provide leadership and management to a team delivering early intervention and support for families during the critical stages of pregnancy and early childhood. The role focuses on safeguarding, promoting positive outcomes, and enabling families to thrive, reducing the need for statutory intervention.The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of social work practice while leading a multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.Key Responsibilities:Provide effective day-to-day management, direction, and support to the team, ensuring high standards of practice and compliance with statutory requirements.Supervise and appraise team members, identifying training needs and supporting their professional development.Lead by example, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and resilience.Ensure that assessments, plans, and interventions are child-centred, evidence-based, and of consistently high quality.Monitor and review caseloads, providing guidance on complex cases, particularly those involving safeguarding concerns.Undertake regular audits of case files to ensure compliance with legal and organisational standards.Work in partnership with health professionals, early years services, and other agencies to provide holistic support to families.Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, case reviews, and child protection conferences as required.Develop strong working relationships with internal and external partners to improve service delivery.Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and initiatives to improve outcomes for children and families.Use data and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of the team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.Lead on specific projects or initiatives to enhance the support offered to families during the pre- and post-birth period.Benefits of the roleCompetitive salary in line with market rates.Comprehensive induction and training programmes.Supportive team environment with access to supervision and professional development opportunities.Generous annual leave entitlement and pension scheme.What We’re Looking For:Social Work England registeredProven experience in managing or supervising a team within children’s social care, ideally within an early intervention or family support setting.Strong knowledge of UK legislation, policies, and safeguarding frameworks relevant to children and families.Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.Experience in quality assurance, performance management, and service improvement.Skilled in building effective relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners.Strong analytical, decision-making, and organisational abilities.Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.How to Apply:If you are an experienced Team Manager with a passion for safeguarding and a desire to lead and inspire a dedicated team, we would love to hear from you.Please note, this job is managed by Sanctuary Personnel on behalf of its client.
