Fire Alarm Service Engineer

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our growing team.You will be responsible for the routine maintenance, fault-finding, and minor repairs of fire detection and life safety systems following relevant British Standards and company procedures.This role is field-based and requires excellent technical skills, a professional attitude, and a strong focus on customer service.Key responsibilities include:Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of fire alarm systems to BS 5839-1 standards.Diagnose and repair system faults and provide detailed fault reports.Complete small works, such as device replacements, panel swaps, or wiring corrections.Maintain accurate records of all work completed and report any non-compliances.Respond to emergency call-outs as part of the on-call rota (as required).Work across a variety of environments, including commercial, residential, industrial, and public sector buildings.Advise clients on system condition, upgrade options, or required remedial works.Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.Proven experience servicing fire alarm systems (minimum 3 years preferred).Strong knowledge of conventional and addressable systems (e.g., Ampac, Gent, Advanced, Morley, Notifier, Kentec).Working knowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266, and general fire industry standards.Good communication and customer service skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Willingness to participate in an on-call rota (as required).Full UK driving licence.Desirable qualificationsFIA Units 1–5 (Design, Installation, Maintenance, Commissioning, Advanced Detection)CSCS/ECS CardElectrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds 2365/2391 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations)Experience in emergency lighting, extinguishers, or integrated life safety systems is a plusKnowledge of security or access control systems (desirable but not essential)We offer a range of benefits to support and reward our team members, including:Competitive salary & benefitsOpportunities for career progressionA professional and supportive work environmentThis is an exciting opportunity to grow your career with a company that values its employees.
