Position OverviewRadcliffe Department of Medicine, MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headington, OxfordWe are seeking to appoint a highly motivated Senior Postdoctoral Researcher to join a newly established research group led by Dr Abdullah Khan. The group engineers complex human models to dissect how cell‑to‑cell and cross‑tissue interactions shape health and disease. By recreating specialised microenvironments—from bone marrow to cardiac tissue—we study how ageing and disease can drive changes in these niches. Our goal is to ultimately use these approaches as translational tools to identify new therapies and validate them in relevant, human pre‑clinical platforms.ResponsibilitiesPlan and manage your own research project.Develop research questions within the context of research in the lab, focusing on modelling immune cell crosstalk between multiple organoid models.Contribute intellectually to the development of the research and help shape the wider research programme.Help with the supervision and coaching of other members of the team.Shape the research group's plan and write group‑funding applications for new projects.QualificationsPhD/DPhil in Life Sciences with post‑qualification research experience.Experience in generating and applying 3D human organoid models of multiple tissues, including bone marrow and heart.Strong foundation in molecular biology and immunology techniques.Proven ability to independently manage research projects, supervise staff, and apply for funding.Excellent communication skills, a strong publication record, and an interest in translational research. #J-18808-Ljbffr
