Clinical / Integrated Support Worker Higher Level (Thirsk Community) The closing date is 16 December 2025 We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker (Higher Level) to support the Thirsk Community Nursing Team based at Thirsk Health Centre YO7 1LG. There is an expectation, at times to cover service need, the candidate may be asked to work to support another community nursing team within Hambleton & Richmondshire/MRC locality. Currently our core service hours are between 0800 - 1800 Monday - Sunday however this is currently under review and potentially our future working hours will be between 0800 hours - 2000 hours. Successful candidates will be experienced in working in a health care setting however community experience would be an advantage and candidates must have: Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 Care certificate (willing to work towards if already holds NVQ level 3) Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3; Theoretical knowledge; Experience of a range of care and related procedures; clinical observations; knowledge of relevant legislation Main duties of the job The successful candidate should be enthusiastic and be able to work on their own and as part of the team. Qualifications & Training Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or Maths & English (English Language or English Literature) GCSE A-C/4-9 or Maths & English O Level/GCE A-C or Maths & English CSE Grade 1 or NARIC/ENIC which compares the qualification to UK GCSE (https://www.enic-naric.net/) Care Certificate (if you don't hold this certificate, you would be expected to complete this during your first 6 months of employment) Level 3 vocational qualification or Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties and/or Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3. Theoretical knowledge, experience of a range of care and related procedures, clinical observations, knowledge of relevant legislation Completion (at the point of start date or within the probationary period) of the WASP competencies and Trust face to face training session related to insulin administration, and/or oral medication administration, following the Trust approved standard operating procedure and policy. Experience Experience of working in health or social care. Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalation of changes or findings. Knowledge & Skills Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation. Analytical and judgement skills to make decisions based on patient / service user interactions and observations and metrics. Basic IT skills to use electronic patient records and other Trust systems. Knowledge of Safeguarding.
