Job Overview We are looking for a Fixed Term District Nurse to join our friendly, inclusive and forward‑thinking District Team in the West Lancashire area. The role is based at Clayton House in Burscough and will be fixed until June 2026. Full UK driving licence is required as the role is community based. Responsibilities Work as part of the 24‑hour district nursing service under the direction of the District Nursing Team Manager/Leader, providing high quality holistic care to patients. Carry delegated responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence‑based nursing for patients in their own homes. Assume delegated responsibility for the supervision of the team in the absence of the District Nursing Team Leader, when required. Qualifications and Experience Degree/Diploma in Adult Nursing. First‑level registered nurse. Experience working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team or across agencies (desirable). Understanding of complex assessments and planning and evaluation of care packages. Excellent written and verbal communication. Effective interpersonal skills. Clinical risk assessment skills. Ability to problem‑solve and make clinical decisions; understanding of NMC standards and implications to practice. Ability to work independently in a community setting. High clinical standards.
